Used to see them as a kid quite often around Cedar City...not sure what they have to do with fish and fishing, though.

They are interesting looking, very unique for sure. At least they aren't destructive like the Mormon crickets can be. In the desert scape they'd have to be able to fend of scorpions and tarantulas so that must be where those pinchers may come in handy for them.

They are interesting but you don't wanna try to make a pet out of them. They are "solpugids"...also known as camel spiders or wind scorpions. HERE IS A LINK to an interesting web article on them. |
