I left Chesterfield and got to Hawkins around 1 pm. There is 3 inches of ice, the water way below the boat ramp. There were three people on the ice and they had two, 2 pound rainbows. I put out a few poles and my new camera. I only saw four fish. But one came in fast and I set the hook before I felt it. A nice fat 1 1/2 pound rainbow.
The water was murky. I think I could do better with plain sonar. I did see one other nice fish touch my jig twice but no bite. I want to try it again at first lite. Maybe Monday.
