Cascade
#1
My wife and I did a 1/2 day recon in preparation for a camping trip next week-end targeting Kokes and seeing if one of our Perch spots we like will produce.

In spite of torrential down pours and occasional wind gusts we toughed it out and managed 2 jumbo perch, 1 - 4 lb trout, another smaller trout and no Kokes.

I've fished Cascade several times this summer. I've caught 2 nice kokanee, 2 nice trout, and lots of trout in the 12-14 inch range. I've talked with people who got 20 to 30 perch in a day's fishing. I haven't caught the bigger fish I caught last summer. I haven't targeted perch, but others seem to catch an occasional large one, a few good ones, and some small ones. Overall, trout, kokanee, and perch numbers in the boat seem to be down from last year. There must have been a good hatch because perch fry are abundant.

Was there last Thursday thru sunday. Perch were hard to find. We did take home about 10 jumbos but never really found large concentrations. Trout fishing was stupid good. Probably caught 30 to 40 fish a day trolling. (using barbless hooks and releasing most fish)

Each day there would be 4 to 6 fish that were over 20 inches. With several over 24 inches.

No kokes.

Thanks for the report! Sounds like a good time with the trout, if I make it up in the next few days I will post a report.
