What kind of gear do you have? Size of rod/reel?

Most Trout are line shy. They can see certain sizes of monofilament line. The smaller the size the better.

I do most of my Trout fishing on 2lb test.

Depending on where you are, the type of Trout your are targeting and the type of gear you have will constitute a different setup, presentation and method for catching them.
