Squid attack
#1
JapanRon: After all the great news about the local squid that I mentioned on the other boards, I might have led you astray. You said you were on the way to board a sportboat, but I forgot the full moon. We went to the Horseshoe Sunday and caught lots of bass but they were all only 10 to 13 inches. The tubes are still there. We saw lots of bird indication that the squid were on top but we didn't see any. I bet by the weekend the Bull Bass will be up and at them. It is a vitual guarantee that I'll be there, it isn't often the squid get over the Horseshoe.

Hi there gvanzant,

We had a great day out on Monday last week! We hit a few rockpiles on the shoe and we caught a lot of big calicos and sandbass. In fact, the boat had limits! The Premier seems to have squid on a constant basis. Danny will go to the float the night before if he has to!

I'll be on the boat this Wednesday. Glad to hear you had a good trip. I heard that some boats were getting the squid that floated just after new years at Horseshoe Kelp!!

Lousey Fishing during the Winter..... Who's that? Not us that's for sure!

Happy new year,

JapanRon
