Went to Mantua this morning with a buddy. Fished the SE side in 7 feet of water. Caught a bunch of Rainbows, 2 LMB, 2 Bluegill, and 1 Perch. Used green rat finkees and pink rat finkees with wax worms. Fishing slowed down after 10.

Thanks for the report. Thinking about heading out there Saturday morning. Is there a good place to park on the se side? How thick was the ice?

We just parked along the road. Ice was around 4 inches.

They do let folks park along the south dike road, just leave the gap open where folks get on the ice. But near the boat launch, you could drive up and drop off gear, but I wouldn't park there, but down at the lot by the bathrooms. There's also lots along the west.
I did see Barney working his post at the foot of the hill as I drove up. But then he was gone as I was leaving, LO and BEHOLD - he had a pull-over halfway up the hill. That trap they weave is a sticky one.
