Free fishing opportunities open the month of June in two California locations:
June 1 - Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs event, 7 a.m. to noon at Bedrock Park in Oroville (95966). The free event is for children 12 and under with fishing, bait, fish cleaning and a pancake breakfast provided. Those 13 and over can also participate with donations accepted. June 1 - Oak Grove Park Fishing Derby is scheduled at Oak Grove Park , 4520 Eight Mile Road, Stockton (95209). This event is sponsored by the San Joaquin County Department of Parks and Recreation and the Delta Fly Fishers with support from CDFW.
