Fishing aboard a charter boat out of Huntington Beach, California, a Texas angler has likely broken an IGFA all-tackle world record with this 11-foot, 1323.5 pound shortfin mako shark, according to a story published on ktla.com. If the catch weight is verified, it could break the 12-year-old IGFA all-tackle record of 1,221 pounds, taken off Massachusetts in 2001. Mako's are noted for their speed and spectacular leaps when hooked.
