Fishing conditions?
#1
Been thinking real hard about grabbing the kayak and going out this Sun. Weather looks good. Just wondering has anyone noticed water temp. Are the fish moving up yet for the spawn. Morning bite? ETC. Well thanks all.

Cheers, JG

Hey All -
New to the forum and wanted to ask what the best time to fish for Stripers in Gov't Wash is this time of year. Specifically what time do you find in the AM and the PM that the bite the best?

Got skunked the last few times we fished Gov't Wash and I am trying to determine if it might be time of day that is a contributing factor. Thanks.

And any advice for a new kayak angler to Lake Mead for how and where to catch fish in Gov't Wash this time of year (shallow, deep, just off shore, anchovies, lures, drop shots, etc).

I havent fished the south end of the lake for sometime but i was always successful if I hit the water prior to sunrise and fished the coves. The stripers come in shallow and start pushing the shad. I would start at the cove with the floating bathroom and make my way towards the wash chasing boils.

I have been out several times the last few weeks , both on kayak and on foot , the bass are slowly moving into the shallows , but seem uninterested in what i'm throwing , i have seen zero shad or bait fish yet this year , i prefer am hours just before sunrise and as early as 2 hours before sunrise when it gets hotter. i have had the most luck with striper in the coves using a top-water poppers from about 7 to 10 am. i have spotted lmb at 33 hole and boulder beach area as of yesterday march 12th , hoping by the 20th the bite picks up.good luck guys.
