Launched from Callville about 11:00 AM (amidst some recreational traffic so be cautious) and put the hammer down on the Skeeter, not stopping till we got just on the east side of the Narrows. Fished the AZ side in a slight chop and some boat wakes and quickly picked up 3 smallies and 2 stripers...one striper on a surface popper.
The ran to Middle Point Island for two fish off a point and nothing surprisingly on a very good spot off shore because that has been a consistent spot for years.
Sun began to get to us so we ran to Napoleon's Tomb looking for some shade. Found some and found a lot of small fish. Got our plastic pecked a lot and a couple short smallies. About 5:00 the wind quieted and bite stopped.
About 6:30 ran to one cove of the Jawbone and fished a shady side...saw some bigger bass on secondary points and many 4' to 5" bass in the shallow brush filled back, but the bite was reluctant at best. The surface temperature there was cooler ( maybe 67 to 70 degrees) than down by Callville.
The Quagga muscles are thick in Napoleon's Tomb area, coating all the stick ups. if you go that area and haven't been recently navigate with caution...some reefs and long points are coming close to the surface with lowering water levels and they are not marked.
Generally targeting from the shore edge to 35 ft...Holding the boat at 45 to 50 ft. except when running the shore or a wall. Or at times sitting shallow and fishing uphill.
