Kaibab Lake
#1
I am going camping at Kaibab Lake in Arizona this weekend. I know I should be posting in the AZ forum, but wanted to see if any local friends have fished the lake before? Not too many reports online. [fishon]

I didn't see much online either. Small lake looking at Google Maps. I don't see myself making a 240 mile drive for a 60 acre lake, plus there is a 10hp restriction on that lake. Been trying to come up with some new spots within a reasonable driving distance for us to hit this year and not finding much that interests me in Arizona at all other than Lake Havasu. AZ out of state fishing licenses are pretty spendy too from what I remember researching it last year. Been pondering a overnight/camping trip to Minersville this year (would be the first time there) or maybe Panguitch depending on some decent fishing reports since they had to nearly drain Panguitch last year to fix the dam area. Kolob is a do-able one day trip.

You going to Kaibab to fly fish? I have been feeling the itch to break out the flyrod and chase some Rainbows. Might have to make it up north to Utah sooner than later to get the itch filled!

Nah, not much of a fly fisherman. I agree w you, it is a far drive for a small lake. But it's a big group camping trip and there's water. So I'd rather have a pole in the water than not.

Yeah, not much to write about really. Small lake and no action. The water was terrible and I don't even know if there are any game fish left in this place!

Full review on AZ forums if you are interested.
