My heartfelt condolances to the family of the slain officer first off then for all the other wounded officers and their loved ones. May The Almighty bring them peace. I do feel for the family of the shooter as well but can't find feelings in my heart for him.
It's really too bad that the police didn't keep shooting. We'd all have been better off. As it is, all of us are now faced with untold thousands of tax dollars defending one that is by all that is right, undefendable. Add to that the cost of incarceration and it's conceivable that the entire tax burden of a couple of Utah families will be spent for what?
What we need in this country is to adopt the idea that if a person chooses to violate the laws, they automatically forfeit all right to protection under them. Kinda a tough stance but it would sure end a lot of that appeal, appeal ad nauseum crap and disgusting scum like that Allgier piece of feces would get their due. I wonder just how many new schools, hospitals, roads etc. we could build with the money we'd save?

i agree. i also wish the law enforcement agencies would spend a little more money and get our officers straight out combat training. i honestly believe it would have had a very positive impact on the casualties in this case. im not saying there would have been none but i am saying it would have been a help. the gunman had an ak47..... shot placement is always the deciding factor in a gunfight of course, but he had the ability to put more shots in the air therefore higher odds that one of his sick deranged bullets would find its mark. firepower DOES make a difference. i really hope these agencies will not let this officer and possibly other officers die in vein. they need to spend the money, take the time, and give our men and women the tools they need to survive and protect the community

i agree, there are people in this world that actually do make mistakes in life and go to jail once or twice or so on.. but if you are sick enough to point a firearm at "anybody" and pull the trigger, especially a man of the law who is out there to protect US you are a sick S.O.B. and the lord will determin your fate. and it wont be pretty. my heart and prayers go out to the families who have lost a loved one.

The bad guy did not have an ak-47. I know that the media said that he had one, however that is not acurate.
Not trying to criticize you, just wanted to clarify that this was not totally accurate.

Well Mark you and I both know that the blood suckers/media will make up what they dont know as fact as long as they can keep the publics attention.. Its to bad they arent held responsible for providing faults truths simply for the sake of profit and ratings.

This is indeed a tragedy. I am sickened by the individual who shot these officers. I do wish the suspect would have been taken dead instead of alive (maybe a groin shot that festered for a few days of hospital time until the infection got him). I do know there is a bank fund set up for each officer. The information is on KSL. I know times are lean for my family right now but I'm going to scrape up $10.00 for each of these officers. What if we all did this? Could be a big help to these families. Especially the family of the officer who passed away.

I think the news said he was in the army a long gime ago. I understand ptsd, was briefed thouroughly while active duty myself on what to watch for. I disagree that this is a ptsd issue. He is a tird who was growing dope in his house and shot up a bunch of cops. If I could volunteer and be on the firing squad to eliminate him I would bring my own ammo. TV didn't do any favora to Veterans by making them look unstable and in some instances homicidal. I watched an episode on Vietnam Vets, they interviewed a guy from the VA. He had statistical data that showed Vietnam Vets had very little issues unlike what the TV makes out. Suicide rate was lower than the rest of the civilian population. To say a non combat Veteran is suffering from PTSD and it somehow caused him to shoot up police officers is about as disrespectful to our Vets who actually may suffer from ptsd. None of which I would dare say think it would be a great idea to start growing pot in their house and would never ever ambush cops. In every instance they would be out there trying to help the wounded officers.

There is no circumstance which I could think that our Govt should quarantine Vets returning from war. Parades yes, quarantine never. Has there ever been an actual instance where ptsd caused a veteran to go on a homicidal spree?
