Federation of Fly Fishers Northern California Council Forms Veterans First

Northern California Council Education Committee has formed a sub committee Veterans First Fly Fishing (VFFF): Currently comprised by volunteers from Mission Peak Fly Anglers, Diablo Valley Fly Fishers, Tri Valley Fly Fishers, Peninsula Fly Fishers, Tracy Fly Fishers & others from non FFF clubs. VFFF and the Veterans Administration for Central California, Palo Alto Health Care System (PAHCS) have recently crafted and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOA). This MOA is a huge step forward for establishing a long lasting, beneficial relationship between the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) and the Veterans Administration (VA). The MOA covers the basics of what is expected of the VFFF and PAHCS. Hopefully this model will be followed and expand to other VA hospitals and clinics where our veterans are being treated.

PAHCS is one of the largest VA facilities in the USA and has been honored multiple times as being among the top rated facilities in all of the Veterans Administration hospitals and clinics, VFFF, NCCFFF & the FFF are naturally very pleased to be a part of helping veterans discover our sport & pastime. Through the VFFF & PAHCS model, NCCFFF is helping our veterans from all conflicts WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf, Afghanistan & Iraq - recover & reintegrate by learning about the sport and pastime of Fly Fishing and Fly Tying that we know and are so passionate about.
