I should go
#1
So, it's comin' on 3 am, and I should really be driving to the lake right now (that's why I got up). The boat is hooked up and loaded up - I'm all set. But this drizzle and distant lightning has me worried. Now I need the motivation to get going. Wish me luck.

the weather report and radar shows it to be pretty wicked out there. be careful is all i can say. yes when the weather is nasty, the big ones come out to play, but its not worth your life.

Good Luck, let us know how you did. I got skunked out there last weekend. Probably gonna hit it again on Sat, got a couple new AC plugs that need to get wet.

Question....how far down river are you guys usually going? I have been trolling from the hatchery to about half mile down river from the 52 sign. Hit or miss. Does it get better farther down?

Well, I picked up Erawk and we went to the lake. Launched at callville and had an awesome day.

He's got a couple pics to post, but, the day summed up :

We caught stripers and a mixed bag of smaller-ish bass.

The storms kept us on our toes, but never got too bad (til we left at noon).

Whizzle was on it from the start pulling some lm and sm on the topwater bite. I had two different fish rise on me but I didn't hook up. The bass were average size so we quick released without photos.

Kept moving and eventually a boil popped up next to us on a bank. We managed to hook up on 5 between the both of us while it lasted. They hit everything we threw at them while they were chasing those shad, but it lasted only a few minutes.

Here are 4 we landed, I snapped one off on the 4lb ultralight [Image: crazy.gif] ... again

Whizzle's fish seem so much more photogenic than mine, when they're held at that "pro" angle. Haha.

We pulled two more smaller stripers and an lm out of our next cove. Finished off trolling the tires hooking up with with one last stripe.

It rained most of the time we were out there, but it was great. Awesome trip, indeed. Total 7 stripers, 3 lmb, and 3 smb

Thanks Whiz
