I posted awhile back about hunting morel mushrooms and didn't get any leads. Today I went on a fishing/mushroom hunting expedition and had some great success! The fishing stunk but finding some wild morels made the trip worth it. When I saw the first one my heart started to beat just a bit faster, I could not believe it! Now I'm not going to pinpoint the exact spot (guess I understand better now why I didn't get much feedback on my previous post) but I will give all of you some key tips. Look for these three things and the morels should be nearby: 1. A nearby water source, 2. Cottonwood trees (Better if there are some stumps or dead trees), 3. Grassy areas. There were some morels that were too old to be harvested, but there were many good ones still so it's not too late to get out there and find a bundle of them. Good luck to anyone who goes hunting, just google morel to find out what they look like before you go. By the way they tasted great sauteed in butter with onions for about 10 min!
