Clip Camera
#1
Heya guys,

I am heading out to Mead in the morning with this action cam I bought for some reason. It can be mounted in several ways but I am going to use the hat clip for it. Let's hope I catch at least one fish so I can test it out. IF the fish co-operate I will try'n post a short vid if I can.

Just so ya know, I am old and grouchy and technological stuff makes me really Angry, so even if I do get lucky 'nuff to hit some fish, I just may not be able to get the footage posted.

I'll post a report later,

Hey Guys,

Got a pretty early start... my buddy was a bit late getting to my house. We get to my launch spot at old Gov. Wash and shad are skipping all over the banks. My buddy loaded up on them in the time it took me to get the porta-bote built. We motor out near that bouy I like and within' seconds I get a nice one.. prob 3 to 4 lbs. I quickly follow it with another, smaller fish.

My buddy is having a tough time getting rigged and such... he's used to being in his own boat and I could tell he was "out of sorts". There were starting to be too many boats around so we decided to move to a quieter spot... many times in the past I have left great fishing for solitude. I land another striper and my buddy finally gets a nice one on... in the end it was a really nice channel cat... nicest I've seen come out of Mead. Maybe 3 to 4 lbs.

The wind gets really calm so we decide to check out for bedding bass. The water clarity is definately not as good as up near Callville. Mostly we could only see shadows if anything at all. I did see one big lmb, but in making sure it wasn't a carp I think we spooked him.

I was selling my old aluminum boat to my buddy so we got off the water quickly today to get the paperwork end done...

All in all nice day... I think had we stayed with the striper it would have been off the charts, but as I often do I get (black)bass fever and go looking for them. As much fun as catching is, bait fishing really isn't my thing.

As we got back to the truck you could still see some shad working the banks, though not as many as in the early morning hours.

I talked to several boaters and some bank fisherman and it seemed everyone caught at least a few fish today, some quite a lot.

On a side note... I didn't take any pics... I was using my clip cam. I got alot of nice footage of like a fishes tail or my hand or knee... it definately is gonna take some getting used to filming with that cam. I didn't get one decent length of footage so I will have to wait til next time for a video...

There was a family tearing the carp up at our landing site. Made my think of Syncityangler and his families day.

Later folks,
