Had a tough day!
First my auger would run right, got it started but would die while digging a hole, but my buddy's 6" Niles works awesome!
Then my buddy and best friend thrashed me today. My 2 perch to his 20 and a trout on my rod and one of my 2 perch actually got tangled in his line and mline broke and he pulled in my perch. It was a great day!
It's been 2 years since I have caught decent perch at SFCR, but we did tday.

well, ya out did us, my auger bogged down too, but it was snow build up around the point that kept it from digging, "quick Fix"
I caught only one keeper gill, my buddy caught one perch a couple gills and a couple big rock bass....
ya, there was some lgm's being caught but we cant count them now because the season on them is closed and now they are throw backs along with the hundreds of bait size gills I was pulling in.

I've fished that lake during the summer and I heard there was kokanee in there, have you ever caught any while you were ice fishing?

Wax your auger with paraffin and the ice won't stick to it!
Nice catch Michael!

When you are targeting perch and walleye, do you ever see part of you finders screen go black while fishing there?

the screen didn't go "completely black" but around 4:30 there was definetly some movement going on wasn't sure what it would be , hoping it might be crappie. Why do you ask?

That is typical of what happens when a school of kokanee come through, I have seen it many times on lakes that I fish for them in. Depending on how big the school is will dictate how completely the screen blacks out. If you notice this again, try reeling up into the group and see if they will hit your offering.
