Elk Camp 2010

After 4 years of hunting in this camp we finally had some animals hanging in the trees. Opening morning the only girl with a tag in our camp got this nice spike.
Puling it out took most of the day. I got to make an evening hunt on an old unused dirt road that I frequent. We saw 2 cows that were less than 70 yards. I wished I had a cow tag this year.

Also saw a huge porcupine. He hated us.


My good buddy shot this 5x5 mid week while helping us find another bull of the same caliber that was hit but still running around our area. Bummer that we never did find it. It haunts my other buddy every day as of now.

Chad and his pops taking off. The camp I hunt in is in soapstone basin. All public. I think we did pretty damn well for hunting in that area. I still need to get me one of those bulls but I still had fun helping pack and track plus hangin out in camp for a couple weekends.

Nice work on the wapiti! I tried this weekend for a cow, but couldn't close the deal....yet!
