Wildcat94 said the reason I'm not catching any muskey or bass is because my motor is too loud so I got a bow mount trolling motor. The problem is that my boat is an aluminum deep v-hull with a tiller motor. It is a Tracker Sweet 16 & is a riveted boat. The top rail is a thin aluminum. Some of the rivets have broken where the piece of wood on the front goes where the bow mount would attach.
Any ideas how I can reinforce that so it's strong enough to hold the motor (when it's thrusting) and is there any way I can get a battery to go up there? My front end sits vicariously high in the water.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. The trolling motor was a stretch for me so I need to keep this on the cheap.
Thanks
