Spent the morning fishing around Hemingway with the girlfriend. We launched at 6 am and stayed near the tires, the wind was pretty bad so we didnt want to risk it. Had a few nice bites on anchovies but didn't bring anything in. Once the wind died down we headed towards the Las Vegas wash and did ok. Pulled in two stripers on anchovies and 2 on a Krocodile chrome spoon, missed setting the hook on 3 more and a fourth one decide he wanted the lure more then me and snapped my line....He had to have been a fatty, 15lb test and I was working the drag. Its was slow at times because we had a hard time finding the schools, the fish didnt seem to be real active. But when ever we found them and could get our lines in the school it was fun!
We also pulled in 2 nice cats. Caught one on anchovies and the other using a craw color crank bait near the shore. Right after i landed the second one i pulled in an ok sized small mouth on a rapala xrap shad, he put up a big fight so i was hoping for something bigger.
All in all a good day on the water. Two weekends in a row the Krocodile spoon was bringing in fish, or at least getting hit. We sent all the fish back to the lake so i can go back and catch them this weekend.
