Lowdrag and I fished the bite out of Chester Frost, our boat number was 13(should tell you something). We made the run up to possum creek and pulled into our first spot. I jumped up on the trolling motor, grabbbed a rod and flufflflflff (huge backlash) tried to pick it to no avail. Climbed down opened rod box, placed rod gently against the door and "poop" 8 inches of Castaway launcher is hanging in the air by a stringemoBang . Changed rods, started on first point, caught two keepers, (time 7:30).................................................................................................................................
Not another bite until 10:30, rest of the day, 5 short fish, 2(huge)crappie, and a perch.
We had 3 fish for a weight of 10.02 all of which came on shad rap R5 and R7 in Crawdad. We found this pattern two weeks ago fishing shallow pea gravel banks in the back of creeks. The problem is that the sun has to be shinning to move the fish and we didn't get any sun until one o'clock. Best fish was a 5.69 largemouth that came out of 1.5 ft. of water.
It was a great day fishing with a good friend....
