Today was uhhh...eventful. Started in a creek channel with nothing happening, then a point nada, another point caught one on a silver buddy, fished a slough nada, then another point still nothing, thought I would find them in the dirt so went to fish some stumps in 2-3 foot of water with a trap and again nothing. Decided to go somewhere else, trimmed down the motor, started her up, and put her in gear. Within a couple of seconds the motor made a different noise - more like a miss fire or something just got my attention, looked bad at the motor to see flames coming out under the bottom of the motor. emoEek Stopped the motor and got the fire extinguisher and put out the flames. Pulled the colwen (sp?) off and looked for any burnt wires and such and didn't see anything wrong. emoScratch Made several calls to find out what I needed to do, run it or not. I decided not to run it back to CFP from WT area just to be safe. It took me about 3 hours to get back with a little fishing here and there. When I got back to the ramp my batteries were dead, checked the voltage when I got home and they had 8 Volts. Not a great day but I did make it back safely and at the end of the day that's all that really matters.

I would like to thank the guy and his son that were crappie fishing, that stopped and asked if I needed any help. emoThanks
