we got to the creek about 7,backed up the the ramp an started to unhook an when i went around the motor to let it down. i went down ,an started to slide down the ramp towards the water.i had to did my hands into the concrete to stop sliding.i got up an walked up the hill an ask some locals what they thought about me putting in .i have heard an talked to a guy that lost his truck here.,due to just a wet boat dock,much less solid ice ,so one of the guys with a 4wheel drive put in, an wet the ramp,i put in right after him,no problems.the water temp was 42 to start,later it got up to 46.we tried a trap then jigs.i even tried a lizard,fianlly i caught one that went 2-14 an then later i got one more that went 3 even.we stayed till 2:00 the two that i caught were reaction bites,an they were solid hits,one of the fish even broke one of the hooks off the back set of trebles.talked to a few fellows that was fishing the 117 tx.they said they had 5 keepers ,an that they came by them the hard way.as i was leaving i found a full face helmet floating in the creek channel.dipped it out an ran around till i found the owner,first thing i ask him was he a member of the C F F ..he said yea sometimes he gets on,so i was proud to be able to help a fellow member.my partner is getting frustrated because he has not caught one in awhile,i told him next week if the bass are not turned on better we might just get us some minners an try some craaapie. man what a beautiful day.we broke for lunch at 12:30 had a hot bowl of chili an a hoagie sandwich.i have a 12volt oven in my boat so about an hour an a half before we get hunger,i plug up the oven an we eat like kings.fishing is supposed to be fun.an with a full belly an a couple of keepers ,an a beautiful day with a great friend.that was a day to rememberan yea i might be a redneck for having the oven ,but go with me an let me treat you to a HOT MEAL on the water an i will win you over.lol.maybe next week will be alittle better.good fishing an everybody have a great next week.
