Skeeter and I had planned to go today before we knew the weather was going to be bad. What made us still go is beyond me. emoBang Should have stayed home and watched fishing shows on TV. We met up at HBSP in a downpour. Jumped out and got under the walkway at the marina. It was 42 degrees and we could not decide how to dress. It was suppose to warm up as the morning went on but they missed that one. Started out at 8 and the first stop I get a hard strike and come in with a scale on my hook. emoAngry Went down the bank a little further and get another hit but no hook up. Both Churly at the G and Drumking at the chick had mentioned they were getting bites but they were not eating the bait. Today was one of those days. We hit another point and we both had one hit a worm and again neither of us hooked up. emoMad Finally after throwing a buddy, a blade, a crank, a shakey head and a jerk I had a hard hit on a crank and the first came in the boat. Not a big one but we were both happy to get the skunk off of us. Skeeter laughed and said let me take a picture of that monster, that may be the only fish we boat. emoDoh Tried a long rock bank and we both had hits again on cranks and he hooks up on one. He fights it in to the back of the boat and it comes off right at the engine. The temp had dropped and it was getting colder not to mention the wind and waves had come up. We both were getting cold and I said we could run up the wolf to get out of the wind and maybe that would be better. That was a cold ride from there to the wolf in that rain and mixed snow. Finally got there and started fishing some of the better spots from last week. I kept getting pick ups but they would not hold it. The snow got worse and the wind was getting to us. Skeeter stopped fishing to put his hands in his pockets and I stayed at it. Finally on another long rock bank my shakey head started coming at the boat with me doing nothing. I had never felt the hit but set the hook for our second and last bass in the boat. emoRain Too cold, too wet, not doing that well and snow getting worse we called it a morning. That was one wet cold three hour trip. I told skeeter that if we had not gone we would have wished we had so at least we got it out of our system today.

Thanks for braving the elements with me skeeter, we will go again when it is not so bad.

C-ya on the water... emoAngler Jmax
