This was only the third trip since Oct 2nd and I was itching to get some good fish in the boat. Today was as good as it gets.
Cathead and I decided late to hit the water. We had our first bait on the bottom at 2Pm and our first fish at 2:03. In five minutes, we had three fish...I was liking this.
We ended up with 33 fish in 4 hrs, most in the 7-14lb range. We had two that broke 20lbs and the big fish was 41lbs. My second HOF kitty.
We fished in 37-51' of water, and temps were high 40's where we were. Flow at Chic dam was 13K steady. All fish caught on skipjack herring "hunks". We were the only boat out the except a lone bass fisherman that came by for a while, and only caught two cats....go figure.
My big fish had terrible scars on it, from what looked like maybe a trot-line or something??
Yall really missed a nice day on the water, wind was not bad, and sun shined on us the whole time.
Saw JSV pulling out and he had a good day, I am sure he will post something.
Other than 40 text messages from Bettlespin, it was a perfect day. emoBigSmile
We ended up with a great pile of fish that are "called to the ministry" for a church fish fry.
