I fished Antero ion 12-20-08 and the bite is still good. And the fish are footballs! An 18" fish will weigh 3.5 to 4.5 lbs! Most are rainbows, but there is a healthy number of cutbows and cutthroats, too.
I fished it from 6:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Only landed 6, but all were between 2 and 4 lbs. Broke off 2, lost 1 and missed 5 or 6 more, so I had lots of chances. Also had a lot of fish come look, then leave without hitting. Standard mini-tubes and ice jigs tipped with waxworms were the ticket. Best areas right now are near the sout boat ramp, off the dam, and off the north shore. Fish anywhere from 8 to 15 feet deep. Lots of fish from 2-4 lbsand some as big as 12-13 lbs!
