FREE YOUTH FISHING EVENT
El Dorado Park in Long Beach, will host free fishing derby for kids on November 22, 2008<br />
Long Beach - Children ages 5-15 are invited to participate in a free youth fishing event hosted by the City of Long Beach Department of Parks & Recreation. The fishing event will be at El Dorado Park located at 7550 E. Spring Street, Long Beach, CA 90815 on Saturday, November 22, 2008.
This activity is designed to give boys and girls who live in urban areas an opportunity to enjoy a fishing experience in or close to their own neighborhoods, with rod & reels, tackle, bait, and assistance provided. Event day on-site registration will begin at 8:00 a.m.; the fishing session will go from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 PM, followed by a congratulatory ceremony and drawing. There will be lots of free prizes for the kids and plenty of fish to catch too. The City of Long Beach will be charging $7.00 per car for parking. None of this money will go to the Daniel Hernandez Youth Foundation.
Anglers age 16 or older can fish at the end of the event, but they must have a California State Fishing License.
