Waiting for the bill
#1
I''ll be interested to see my next cell phone bill . Will a walleye be texting on it ? Will a Largemouth Bass be calling every fish he knows with it ?

That's right , left the darned thing clipped to the belt and in the middle of a cast I felt it bounce off my boots into the river . Usually I have it in a zip-loc tucked into my vest .

Anybody else lost a cell phone while fishing ?
What items have you lost while fishing ?

I saw a reward poster at the baitshop today for a boat motor , the guy took it off his boat after fishing and left it sitting on the dock at the launch .
That's gotta hurt !

I lost a cell phone last year too. I was just heading out and it only fell in about a foot of water so I was able to reach down and pick it up. It was only in the water maybe 5 seconds or so.. .but it didn't matter.. the thing was DEAD.

I once lost a stringer full of walleye in a boat. Grandpa and me were out walleye fishing.... gramps caught a walleye. I untied the stringer from the side of the boat. Added the new walleye to the already 4-5 that were on there... and tossed it over the side. Ummmm Yeah.. I FORGOT TO RETIE IT TO THE BOAT.

Somewhere between cook and foote dam on the ausable there are 5 walleyes swimming around together.

I lost a set of keys, when I got back to the house I had to break in to get the spare set of keys.

Ya I changed the locks and threw away the truck so if some one finds my keys please return them, I can turn them in for the 5 pounds of brass.....

When I was a kid...a lost a stringer of crappie to a cotton-mouth!![Image: yell.gif] Tried to beat the snake into submission with my pole....but he got away nonetheless. As I walked away from the fishin hole...I looked back and saw that snake swimming out in the open water just as if he was boasting that he got a free meal....AND THEN SOME!! LOL

every year we hear about half dozen crocks and gators being captured, some are released in to the sewer only to find their way out of the nearest man hole cover, others escape climbing up stairs and busting out screen doors, while others are picked up out of basements during recreational plant harvesting by local governments, seems like pitbulls and rotwhilers make way to much noise.[:p]

I wasnt a kid, and it was about 30 years ago when I met up with a snapping turtle late one night, I had been fishing all day catching at the time a limit of gills crappies and perch along with a few rockies, the limit was 50 gills and crappies and 100 perch and no limit on the rockies.

like I said, I had fished all day and was looking to pick up my last crappie when I noticed a light tug on the boat. that was strange, cause it was now dark-thirty all the speed boats were off the lake, the water was calm as glass and black as midnight.

I turned my head only to see a big black head the size of a basket ball champing at the fish on my stringer. as you know turtles spook easily so I must have been sitting way to quietly and still for to long for that turtle to have gotten that close to me.

When but after about a good 5 seconds the turtle spotted me and dunked his head back in the water, and 2 seconds later he gave me a wave with his shell, "it had to have been about as big as a voltswagon if she were an inch.

I reached over, pulled up my stringer, only to find 15 fish heads on the first of the 5 spring loaded keys of a metal stringer and the other keys, nothing,

I got to sleep early that night, no fish to clean. tho I had lost my days catch, I was not all that upset, some what disapointed maybe but deffenently not bothered, How often dose man come across another creature that was alive when their great grand parents were born?

I was just happy she didnt want to climb up on my rock "boat" to have her breakfast. [angelic][laugh] I beleive I was blessed and deffenantly honered to have met up with the bohemian of the deap. [Image: bobwink.gif]

*five years ago*

So there I was....fishing Gunlock Reservoir in So. Utah on my way back to SLC from a job. I stopped at Gunlock to fish for some hog bass out of my kickboat which a fellow angler gave me the heads up on. It was hot fishing, calm waters, nice weather, didn't have to work the next day, it was great. A familiar vibration came from my pocket, I reached inside my waders and pulled out my cell phone, it was my beautiful wife calling.
She was telling me about this and that when I said "OH!, I just missed one!" she said "WHAT? YOU'RE STILL FISHING?" and continued to chew my butt out. Without thinking I held out my arm and said "lost my signal" and dropped the cell phone in the water. Not real smart as I found out later...contracts and all, had to get a new phone. Now I don't answer the cell while fishing.
Last weekend (June 21,22) I fished a tournament at Flaming Gorge. I left my cell out on the front deck so I could keep track of time. It must have been pretty warm because it fried my phone, I looked at the time and it was the same time it was last time I looked at it. Took the battery out and reset it....14 minutes untill weigh in!!!! I made it in on time and have a new cell phone coming in the mail. Sometimes my phone is more of a burden than an asset.
