Went fishing from shore yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours. Caught six nice smallmouths that were al around 2 lbs missed about the same. They were caught along steep rocky shorelines or shallow rocky areas. All were caught on a green rapala taildancer. Had a few hits on C-rigged worm also.

Thanks for the report ssabshif. Welcome to the boards. That's a pretty good day on Deer Creek form the last time I fished there. I was lucky to pull out 2 in the 12" range. Granted that was 10 years ago. Keep us all posted on your success.

Sounds like a great couple of hours and one of the better reports on catching smallmouth we have read. Good to have you on the board and we look forward to your future post. We have a contest going on with the different fishing post and I'm sure one of the moderators will enter your post. WH2
