We fished the St. Vrain River for 9 hours on Friday. We caught some very nice fish and there were only a couple of fish that were small. We were using the blown up worm method and used shiners. We caught a lot of different species of trout. We caught rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, cutthroat trout, and lake trout. We also had some bigger strikes but after they hit hard they would have already took our bait. We only saw one other guy fishing and he was fly fishing and he ended up not catching any fish.

I've never heard of lake trout in the St. Vrain. Whereabouts were you fishing? Live shiners or dead?

They were small lake trout of course but we were fishing where there were cabins right by the river I am not for sure what town or what town we were by my friend is the one who showed me this place. I know it is up by boulder and maybe about a mile up into the mountains. I will talk to him when I get a chance and I will ask him what town we were by.
