I could use soem advice on downriggers with small al boats

Ok this is for all of you using ot that have used Downriggers on your small aluminum boats. How did you mount them, which ones do you recommend or just go with the small clamp on models? They will be used for the occasional trip fishing for Koke's and Mac's.

I have mounted one to my rear seat off to one side on our small boat. We bought the small model from Cabelas and it worked fine.You could always mount a triangler piece of plywood to the corner of the boat and mount it there as well. Send us a picture on how you did it.

i would go with the clamp-on one,that way when your not useing them nothing will be in the way.

I mounted mine off the back corner of the boat.

one thingy for sure, you need to run a depth finder when running a down rigger, cant tell ya how many weed beads I dragged up.... "I dont do that no more"
