Hyrum Bulls
#1
Here are some Hardware ranch "Outlaws" that are too good for Hardware ranch. They decided to take up residence in the local's hay barns.
There is a wierd bull with some kind of hang tine in a few of the pictures. See if you can spot him and figure out what's going on with his antlers.

[black]Great looking elk and photos.[/black]

I can only see the odd rack in the next to the last photo. (elk on the far left)

Because it doesn't appear to be a normal drop tine, which is quite unusual in elk, I would guess that because it looks like a club, and the rest of that side of the rack is small and spindly, it's probably the result of an injury while the rack was forming.

Those are some great looking bulls.

[black]I tinkered and attached a couple of the pictures. Maybe they will show the odd ball rack a little better.[/black]

That is some deep snow! What spooked the elk? They looked calm in all the pics except the last three.

The bulls were actually inside the farmers hay barn. He chased them out into the field and they bedded down. The pictures aren't in order.

Nice pics Matt, these bulls are actually off of Coldwater Ranch. I watched them for a month in the valley. When i first saw them there were 5 and over the weeks more kept showing up. You really enjoy this stuff don't you.[Wink]

Ohh, just a side note. I did not take these pictures. A guy i work with took them and emailed them to me.

Brody,
Is the Cold Water ranch a CWMU?

I think it is, but in talking to the yocals i found out that the family that owns it only takes off 3 bulls or so a year. No outside hunters. Not from the horses mouth but from people who live next to it.[Wink]
