That thing is a monster for sure. I lived in Saginaw growing up and they do get some nice size fish come up the river. I've caught a few through the ice over there but nothing that big.

Only problem is...... Dow Chemical is just up river of Saginaw and the river is pretty poluted. See below;

The pollution by Dow has in large part caused widespread contamination of [/size][/red][url "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dioxins"][red][size 1]dioxins[/size][/red][/url][red][size 1] in and around the areas surrounding the Saginaw river [/size][/red][url "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watershed"][red][size 1]watershed[/size][/red][/url][red][size 1]. [red][size 1]Eating some dioxin-contaminated fish from the Saginaw River represents a public health hazard, according to a final public health consultation completed by the Michigan Department of Community Health.

[red][size 1]At a public meeting last week in Saginaw Township, officials from the state urged people to pay attention to fish advisories, which among other recommendations state that people should [red]not eat [/red][red]carp, catfish or white bass[/red][red] from[/red] the river."[/size][/red]

Don't get me wrong.. I'd still go down there and fish. I would just practice catch n release. It's a good place to see if you can catch a big one to hang on the wall but there is no way I'm eating anything out of that river.
