This is a quote from an e-mail I got today from someone in centerville.
My neighbor last Friday got this bear with the combine a half-mile
North of me. I live just East of East Farmington. The combine was stuck,
and the den hole was 5 feet deep.
He was combining our corn over at Measners field and fell into a big hole.
He thought it was a badger hole until a big black paw came out. Pretty soon a head appeared.
They knew for sure it was no badger. He wasn't very happy either.
The bear was trying to dig out from under the wheel but could not get out.
The DWR told them to shoot it. It dressed out 287 pounds, and was a male.

I was thinking the same thing, and I haven't seen any standing corn for awhile.

Thats pretty funny. Actually, a rancher friend of mine saw a nice boar this year (on his ranch). It was on South East side of Monte Cristo. There are a few bears moving into Northern Utah.

There was a bear frequenting the "Oak Lawn park" in No. Ogden last year. He had to be transported out of the state because he was getting a little too close to homes. I was told that the DWR did not release any news to the public becasue they thought the neighborhood would freak out.

I saw this email a number of months ago. I live and farm in Farmington and didn't recognize any of the people or the area. Then I found out it was somewhere else but I can't remember where. There have been bear sightings up Farmington Canyon years ago though.

There is at least one bear up muller park canyon. My good friend had a trail cam set up and got a couple pics of him. It was a cinnimon colored black bear, very cool. Also from another source, there was a buntch of bear scat found below elephant rock. Crazy!
