Saw a old timer on the lake doing this trick .
A couple old gallon glass pickle jugs (had the finger hole handlel on them and capped the jugs with vents cut in it ), filled with water and minnows . He cut holes in the ice lowered the jugs in near where he was going to be fishing the next day .
He was catching fish nonstop when he arrived at his spot the next morning .

sounds like a good trick, but dosnt that fall under the chummng rule? or is he just keeping his bait fresh over night... LOL

I wonder if all the fish they caught the following day all had bruised mouths from hitting up against the jar all night long. Cruel and unusual punishment...........
Think that would work for baiting deer as well? Just put out a bunch of jars of apples and corn. You could shoot them down while they licked the jars.... lol

how about a life size pic of a 24 point buck in the teritory of a bucks rubbings or scrapings...
I imagine the minnow would have the bigger head ache... I can only imagine how many times they hit the wall trying to escape all them perch crappie and hammer handles....[laugh]
