Gorge 9-8 report
#1
Well it been a great year but it had to end sometime. Remember the old saying, "save the best for last", well this wasn't the best, but it was close. Started the morning off with dead batteries at the docks, so didn't get the early start like we usually do, but had a extra in the back of the truck. This was only a minor delay, but didn't make it all the way to upper marsh were I usally fish. Instead we sayed by hole in the wall just south of the pipe and fished around the point. Glad we did. My son and I couldn't get all the poles in the water at once for the fist hour, but then it slowed a bit and finally had all four at once in the holders. Lots of koks between 50 and 70 feet mostly small ones early which we returned as carefully as possible. Using assasin spinners and serpent spoons early then swithced to the squids as the sun got high. Weather was great as usual. I say that because I haven't had a bad day ot the gorge all year. That is a first for me. I've fished that lake almost every weekend since May and only had it rain once, and never have been blown off yet. Picked the right weekends I guess.
Anyway we keep six of the 27 we landed. Only one small mac that went 26 inches. He was the first fish of the morning caught on the ma thi spoon. The other five were kokes that mosting came later in the day that were hooked to bad to release. Unfortunately, 2 were big females (pics) and the others were mature males (pics). The best thing about the morning was the new member of the family joining us for the first time. See kind of looks like a old girl friend of my sons, bur she had a great time watching the poles and pointing the fish as we put them in the box. Again thanks for everyone that stopped by to say hi this year to me or Jared, and thanks for the support everyone has given RMT this year. Look forward to seeing iveryone at the shows this year and showing you the new line of lures and poles for the upcoming season. Thanks again.

[black]Those big hooked jaw kokes sure are pretty! I always wanted to catch one in full spawning colors, green head and red body, just to get the picture. Thanks for all your great reports and pictures this season. We'll certainly miss them![/black]
