Talked with a couple people during the week about fishing the berry this weekend but nobody could go on the short notice I gave them so I went solo. Arrived at 8:00am Saturday morning. The first couple areas I tried was not fast enough catching so I kept moving. The third area was the ticket, fished it for five hours before it slow down. I relocated afew other times picking up a couple in each place. Caught about 3. dozen for the day. One was a 22.5 incher and 3 right at 22 inches. Caught fish vertical jigging in 44' - 53'.
Sunday I was on the water at 6:30. Went straight to the area that produced the day before. Started hooking up right from the start. Called it a day at 11:30am. Caught about two dozen, 3 over the slot and a couple right at 22". The best jigg was a fat 2.5" white or pearl white tube jig.
The first photo is a 23.5" cutt that I took home for dinner. The second and third photos are of a larger cutt that I let go since I had my over the slot cutt. It was 25" and alot fater that the one I took home.

Only way to fish is alone in my book . Wish I could of hooked that 14# er up there this summer .

If you ever need someone to fish with let me know! I only need short notice on the weekends. You treated me to a trip to the 'Berry last season and I would love to go again. I've never been able to produce the same results as that day and would love to learn some new tricks.

MGB, keep me on your call l list for last minute trips. Sounds like you did great. I was up there a couple of weeks ago with me new fish finder using white tubes. It was so fun to see the fish coming for the tube. I loved it. It was amazing how and when they hit. I was also amazed at how far away they would come to check it out. some times the tube would get only get down 20 feet in 45 ft. of water and the fish would come up to meet it. I would lock down the reel and reel away from them and wham!!. Good times. Anyway, it sounds like you still have the touch and it is so nice to catch trophy fish like the ones you caught. Where else can you go to catch fish like that?!!! PM me if you need a rider.
