Bear Lake

Does anyone have any pointers on fly fishing bear lake for some cutthroat? I have no idea where to fish or what to use. I will be fishing from a boat. I have to spend 3 days with the family up there over the 4th and figured I would get some fishing in. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm also going to be in the Bear Lake area around the 4th with family. I'm not an expert on Bear Lake so I wouldn't be able to give you much advice about it. The Utah board has archive section for Bear Lake with a lot of old reports. Here's a link.

I'm sure a dedicated fly fishermen could catch cutthroat at Bear Lake in July but most of the fish will be down deeper so a spinning rod or bait casting rod would be much more effective. I would also recomend you take time to explore some of the creeks in the area. Send me a PM if you would like more information.
