Hawkins/Weston
#1
Fished Hawkins Saturday morning with my 5 year old. There were tons of people there, more than I have ever seen. I think the $3+ gas is having an impact (keeping people close to home).

We caught 2 trout (10" & 14") using bait and a corky to float the worm. Did not see anyone else hook a fish. One boat came in and they had a couple but that was it. We were happy to catch a couple fish but overall I thought it was pretty darn slow. My boy wanted to go to the "bluegill spot" later but we had other plans and couldn't go.

On Sunday, 3 friends and I took the tubes to Weston. The water temp was in the 60 degree range. We caught several trout which were surprisingly full of fight. Most in the 15-17 inch range. One person really figured out the LMB and hammered several in the 14-16" range. Our main target was big perch. We found lots of perch, but only 3 or 4 that were 10 inches or better. Perch were still kinda deep. Lots of catching just not alot of big fish.

We went to Am. Falls saturday to see my folks and the west side boat launch was really packed. The river didn't look to busy but it was getting windy when we went down there so a few people were probably blown off.

Hope everyone had a fun & safe weekend.
