I arrived at tippy early sat. morning on the heart attack hill (Wellston)side of the river and fished the coffer till about 1 P.M. , BAD CHOICE !
1 lousy bump was all I got .
Had I fished below the coffer on that side I might have stood a chance , maybe half a dozen was pulled out down there .
(the stairs to the bend )
Guys , the action was on the Brethren side of the river , every few minutes someone was yelling "fish" .
(pic not clear , shoulder to shoulder in the rivers edge )
Powerful as steelies are , they couldn't make it up into the coffer with the water table being so high . The Brethren side offers the inside current , much slower than the current on my side .
These fish are saving up their energy for a little whoppie .
If your headed up , hit the Breathren side , that is until the winter runoff slows down a bit and the water level drops .
