[#000080] Hello Everyone, [/#000080] The big lake trolling season is finally here and we're off to a great start!
Lake Michigan ports in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan
are all producing some Kings, and Coho (southern ports).

of the '06 spring Kings. The fish are a lot bigger, when compared to the
2005 Lk. MI season where the Kings were on the smaller side.

Will 2006 signal the return of 30 some pound hog Kings?
Probably not, but it's step in the right direction to quality above 20 lb. Salmon.

Late April and into May, bait has shown up in the above mentioned harbors.
When it does, the anglers working water close to the pier heads have had
excellent catches. Manistee's shelf fishing has been pretty decent, as long
as north/northwest winds are not in the picture.[#000080]

[#000080]Early Season Lake Michigan Tip:[/#000080] [#000000]Contrary to the accepted norm, spring Salmon, both Coho and Kings
are being caught over deep water (100' to 200'), fishing down 50' to
120'. Inshore action in the traditional depths over 50 to 60 feet of
water has yet to materialize. [/#000000] [#000080]Early Season Lake Huron

[/#000080]
The first couple, three weeks in April had Port Sanilac showing decent fishing
for Coho, Steelhead and some Kings. Since then, silver fish have been
hard to come by. Those that I do know catching some Kings are being
pretty tip lipped, with the Bluewater Classic Tournament only days away.
Lake Trout fishing in Lake Huron is good.
