DROP SHOTTING!!
#1
Okay for those of you who don't know 'drop shotting' is the new "thing to do" for smallmouth and just about every other type of fish out there. There is a video out right now that I would very highly suggest you go and check out. It is made by a local guy to the Northwest named Seth Burrill. He has a tv show you may have seen called "The Anglers Experience". Go to his website www.axfishing.com and check it out. The DVD will tell you all you need to know about drop shotting, including some tricks. Go check it out.

I have been using drop shot rigs for years and I have found a few new tricks and uses as well. Pretty effective method of fishing if you need to get your offerings at a set depth from the bottom. I have also used the drop shot rig to bottom bounce while drift trolling to target walleye and trout.

Something that I have found few people do is drop shot something big for Pike in the summer. In the hot days our pike will usually go deep and not be very receptive, so this can be a very effective way to catch fish.[Tongue]

My biggest bass came on a drop shotting a cinamon worm. We caught and released almost twenty fish that day. I'll have to check the video out.
