ice warnings are out across the state due to the warm tempratures we've been experiancing the last few days . nobody knows this better than i do . my driveway HAD 3" of ice covering it untill this morning , now it's sloshey mud !
stay away from lakes that have been treated for weeds , they will be the worst to venture out on .
keep yourself safe , colder weather will soon be upon us , better to fish another day than not at all .

ICE OUT

south east michigan. what ever we had is now penut brittel....

ross lake had water covering about 3" of ice new years eve , sanford lake had open water in spots at the same time [shocked]. there was a cold front that moved in and refrose the lakes during the night [cool].
there were several ice fishing groups on sanford lake new years day and there were motercycle ice races being held on ross lake new years day .
what a differance a day makes !
we lost power new years eve day from the wind stormes , today we woke up with ice covering everything outside .[shocked]
this is the first time in years i didn't get to celebrate the dawn of the new year steelhead fishing on the au sable . []
today is the last day for us bowhunters in michigan , i'll be deerless for the first time in years . luckely , one of my buddys sent some venison over to put into the freeser . [cool]
soon i'll be working on the scanoe you brought up , springtime will be here sooner than ya' know it . i figure i can get a couple hours of work on it a day after coming off the ice . i can't thank you enough for getting me my dream boat , i've wanted one of those for years and years . the new plastic canoes may be all the rage for some guys , me , i prefer the old alumimine boats . she will be treated with great care , i love it ![]

I thought about going out newyears day, but by the time I got up the day was over, maybe I will hit my spot one day this week before the snow sets in....

I axidently came across a spot down my way a couple weeks back. I am looking forward to pulling in a dinner or two []
