White bass are excellent, with limits being caught all over lake, in 13 - 17 feet on TailHummers and slabs. Hybrid striper to 8 pounds are fair early on Sassy Shad. Crappie are slow around boathouses on tube jigs. Catfish are good on liver and shad over humps.

TRINITY BAY Trout are good on the shell near Smith Point on red shad and glow/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Redfish, trout and sand trout are good at the Spillway on live bait and red/white and pearl/chartreuse Hogie's and Bass Assassins. Redfish are good in Jack's Pocket on shrimp and gold spoons.
EAST GALVESTON BAY Trout are fair to good on Top Dogs and Super Spooks for waders along the south shoreline. Trout are good at Hannas Reef and Deep Reef on live shrimp and black/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Sand Eels and Trout Killers. WEST GALVESTON BAY Trout, redfish, sand trout and croaker are good at the causeway and railroad bridge on live bait and fresh dead. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on finger mullet and cut bait. Trout and redfish are fair to good on the shell while drifting with shrimptails and live bait. TEXAS CITY Trout are good at Dollar Reef on live bait and glow/chartreuse plastics. Redfish are good in Moses Lake on live shrimp under a popping cork. Trout, redfish, sand trout and croaker are good at night under the lights off the dike. FREEPORT Trout, Spanish mackerel and redfish are good on live bait at the Surfside and Quintana jetties. EAST MATAGORDA Trout are good on the reefs on She Dogs, Super Spooks and pumpkinseed Bass Assassins, Trout Killer II's and Norton Sand Eels. Redfish are fair to good in Lake Austin on live shrimp and crabs.
MATAGORDA Redfish are good on topwaters and live shrimp in Oyster Lake and the north shoreline of West Bay around Shell Island. Trout and redfish are fair to good on black Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels around Green's Bayou. PORT O'CONNOR Trout and redfish are good on the reefs in San Antonio Bay on live shrimp, topwaters and gold spoons. Bull redfish are good on mullet and shrimp at Pass Cavallo. Trout and redfish are good in the back lakes on live shrimp and topwaters. ROCKPORT Trout are fair to good on Long Reef on Bass Assassins and live shrimp. Redfish are good on the Estes Flats on mullet and live shrimp. Trout and redfish are good on topwaters in Copano Bay and on the backside of Mud Island. PORT ARANSAS Trout are fair to good around Shamrock Cove on red/white Super Spooks and red shad Bass Assassins, Sand Eels and Trout Killers. Redfish are good on the East Flats on live shrimp under a popping cork. Offshore is good for red snapper and kingfish.

CORPUS CHRISTI Bull redfish are good off the Bob Hall Pier on finger mullet and cut bait. Gafftop are good on fresh dead. Trout and redfish are fair to good on the reefs in Nueces Bay on live shrimp under a popping cork and She Dogs.
BAFFIN BAY Trout are fair to good at Penescal and Rocky Slough on piggy perch, live shrimp and black soft plastics. Flounder are fair to good on shrimp and jigs tipped with shrimp at the Meadows. Redfish are good at Yarborough on topwaters. PORT MANSFIELD Trout are good for waders working the grass beds on chrome topwaters and bone plastics. Trout, redfish and flounder are good on live shrimp under a popping cork and red/white and glow/chartreuse shrimptails in the Intracoastal and on the grass beds near the channel. SOUTH PADRE Trout are fair to good from Holly Beach to Laguna Vista on pumpkinseed Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Trout and redfish are good on topwaters on the Gaswell Flats. PORT ISABEL Trout and redfish are good on live shrimp under a popping cork and live shrimp on the flats adjacent to the Intracoastal. Flounder are good in the same area on live bait. Trout and a few tarpon are good at the jetty on live bait.

CHOKE CANYON Water stained upriver, fairly clear in the main lake and the backs of creeks; 85 degrees; 0.03' high. Black bass to 11 pounds are very good on heavy jigs with watermelon creature bait trailers on flats with patchy hydrilla in 4 feet midday. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish to 7.5 pounds are very good on Catfish JuJu under cormorant roosts in 8 - 12 feet early, and on cheesebait and chicken livers around stickups and hardwoods and on edges of hydrilla in 3 - 14 feet after the sun comes up. Yellow catfish are very good on trotlines and juglines baited with live perch, minnows, and goldfish near river and creek channels in 20 - 30 feet.
FALCON Water clear; 82 – 83 degrees; 13.56' low. Black bass to 11 pounds are good on watermelon and red shad small soft plastic creature baits on main and secondary points in 25 feet. Catfish are good on worms, liver, stinkbait, shrimp, and live bait in river holes. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait. The State Park and Zapata County ramps are both working, as are some of the Lodge and RV Park ramps. The El Tigre Island ramp is open to the public for a $3/person fee. The San Ignacio ramp is open only for small boats. Launching below the dam on the Rio Grande River is possible at both the Salineno and Chapeno access points. Mexican fishing licenses and boat permits are required to fish in Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexico Fishing License whether fishing or not.

Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are very good at night under lights on jigs and minnows taken from the lake. Channel and blue catfish to 6 pounds are very good on Catfish JuJu, frozen shrimp, cheesebait, and chicken livers in the backs of spring fed creeks and in the river in 4 - 12 feet.
