3 days fishing from Horseshoe Kelp to Huntington Flats

Went out on the Premier, 3/4 day open party boat out of Pierpoint landing this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Having done this for the last month or so, the experience has made it fairly easy to track how the bite goes during thi stage of Summer and the sand bass migration.[/size]

[size 1]Nice anchovies and sardines avaliable.

8/16
Sand bass slow but the barracuda bit down at Huntington Flats and some 20 inch plus bonito action a bit further out.
8/17
Went to Catalina and hit the front side 30 minutes south of Bird Rock, worked our way toward the west end, fished a little of the back side, and back to the front with 1 yellowtail and a few calicos and barracuda. Tough catching but fun fishing.

8/18
Good barracuda bite nearing honest wide open as well as a 20lb yellowtail, 1 nice halibut and a good number of sandbass and calicos. Lots of 13 inch calicos we didn't harvest and the pesky bonito.

The dogs and mackerel also made their presence felt.

yea ... tues day was awful.. but i give props to the captain for trying
not alot of captains move.. most of them just circle
that barry was pretty big.. but i think the kid with the yellow should have put it on the scale (although it was half the size of the barry)
