high water at wiggins dam
#1
got some massive rain last night , so i headed off to the wiggins lake dam after giving my better half a mothers day smooch .

the water level was up between 4 and 6 feet over normal at my best guess, cought a whole buncha fish too . smallies , lmb's a couple northerns , a small eye and some gills and rockbass . lost quite a few set ups and bobbers too .

now i did manage to find a white morell right next to the worm box , it was the only thing i brought home . i didn't keep any of the fish .

gatto go , thunder boomers are here again.

man , were getting hit with wave after wave of big boomers and heavy , heavy rain ![Smile]

saw a few roads already closed with new rivers crossing them , sounds like were in for some good worm picking for a few days .[Wink]

guess they will miss me at the bait store [Tongue] .

a buddy of mine went fishing yesterday too , his pal took him to a spot he thought would be real good .

after a few hours went by , he kept wondering why he wasen't getting any hits on his flys . seems they were walking thru a cow pasture to get to the river and his buddy forgot about a ditch that ran thru it , they were chest deep in the ditch and fishing the cow pasture , the river was still a good 50 yards further away !

thunderstorms are forcast for the rest of the week , fishing should be good around here for a while .

most of them fair weather fishermen don't know what there missing like we do . when it rains a big one , man thats the time to hit the rivers !

the fast deep water pulls them big fish up outta there holes under the log jams and banks ann gets them out in the open .

youi can loose a hundred flys on a log jam going for the big fish sitting under it or wait for a rainstorm and get him and a couple of his cousins too on one worm .
