Welcome to the Nevada board. I was out there about five years ago for a wedding reception and at that time it was stocked with bass. I'm not sure if that's still the case.

I drove out there yesterday with my wife to take a look. Saw about 15-20 bass cruising the pond, mostly 1-2&1/2 pounds. Lotsa' bluegills and carp. Lotsa' algae. I asked at the office & they told me it's free fishing for the guests otherwise it's 20 dollars a day. I probably wouldn't go out there under those circumstances.

WOW. $20 just to fish that little pond. There's other places than that, for a mere $5 for 5 days if not for free.

Yeah it didn't look THAT great. I'll just stick with Floyd Lamb on my pond days. I usually do pretty well there.

Are those urban ponds as much "combat fishing" as I've heard. I've never been to one, but I'm interested in maybe taking my daughter to one. But if it's shoulder to shoulder then I'll find some place else.

No they're not bad. I only fish for bass so I usually am not sitting on one spot like the folks who fish for planted trout & catfish. There are 4 ponds out at FLSP so there's enough room & you can still get away from other folks by fishing the smaller ponds.

I too like the ponds at Floyd Lamb. The lower one is full of bluegill if you'd like to bring your daughter to fish. I usually go there quite a bit throughout the year for a couple hours of fishing, though never on the weekends... it's just too crowded for my tastes then.
