As the start of the 16 species fishing contest is upon us, I decided to get some of my first entries out at the CAT. If anyone would like to join me out there feel free to come out. I fish mostly by the boat landing and on the other side by the jetty.
If you can make it, I will see you there. Just look for someone with a BFT Hat and Shirt on.

Hey there guys,
Wish you the best. I look forward to your always outstanding reports of the fishes and those pesky spiny creatures. Is the 16 species contest the one that you have to have a big fish logo somewhere in the pic?

They said the shirt, hat, or something BFT. They official rules are posted. They have them on this board or on the contest board.

i would have to pass by tubedudes place on the way , snowbirds are still concidered fair game in his area . as you know , nothing slips past him .
yesterday was a cool 32 degrees , very little wind at all , of course the rain picked up the slack in that department .
a whole lot of suckers were at the river yesterday , including the fish species too !
i had one good steelhead on for a minute or two , peeled line out like i was hooked onto a rail job leaving the x-mass tree .

[cool][blue]Yeah, if you come through Arizona you need to disguise yourself as either a southern redneck or an undocumented migrant worker. We got lots of those so you could blend in. [/blue]
[#0000ff]The snowbirds are all spent out and we have been trying to sweep them out of Arizona since the first of April. We even increased the bag and possession limits on them, to encourage more harvesting. Also posting snowbird recipes in the local papers to make more locals aware that they taste just like chicken.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We're about as tough on snowbirds off season here in Arizona as the Californians are on "Zonies" when we try to get over to the beach during the hot summers.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]But, hey lonehunter, let me know when you might try to "run the border" and I'll use my connections to get them to turn off the snowbird detectors while you are crossing the line.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]By the way...100 degrees in Phoenix yesterday...and about the same today. That would thaw you out in a hurry.[/#0000ff]

We were at 105 in the West side yesterday. It's a good thing that we don't have snowbirds here. They would come precooked.

i'll have to smuggle a 55 galon drum of sunblock with me . up here you don't need it much , nature has supplied us with plenty of snow and clouds to keep the suns rays from reaching us .
although it didn't stick to the ground today , it snowed all morning and afternoon .

You can rent one of those space suits like every one else does around here. They have and SPF of 2000.

I'm glad you are enjoying it. We had low 100s Monday, low 100s Tuesday, mid 90s today and climbing back up to a slow boil by the end of this week.[pirate]
