Since it's National Catfish Day (thanks tin can) I decided to celebrate at Willard. After readingTDs post from yesterday I figured most the dike dwellers on the east side had sore mouths today so I drove around to the west dike. I wasn't ten feet off the dike before I my first hookup on my flyrod. About the time I netted that one, my flig rod started to dance. Action was mostly non-stop until about 10:30 when the wind came up from the south. Working my way back to the starting point added a few more fish, mostly small mouth bass.

Nice smallie Larry!
Some day I hope we can figure out how people catch them - need to add them to our bucket list for sure....

Think rocks. I've been getting SMBs right against the shoreline.

Couple nice fish Larry. My son and I went out to WB south on Wednesday. Breezy at first but not bad, just enough to keep the bugs down.
We worked the west wall from just south of the light pole, to about mid-lake "Openness" then back to the south-west corner and all along the south wall to the feed lot. Trolled about half of the various lures in our boxes at speeds of .8 to 2.8 mph. Drowned some worms in several spots, and cast several different Gulp plastics.
Went home really stinky of skunk.
Saw a guy in the south marina when we were leaving that was in a tube, thought maybe it was you, but he loaded up and left before we got the boat on the trailer.

Forrest, I thought that might have been you on the ramp. Fishing out of the south marina wasn't as good as the day prior. I did manage to find some catfish and a few more SMBs before the wind came up.
