Great hunt in South Texas
The wife and I just returned from a fun hunt for her near Freer Texas on Ty Detmer's T-14 Ranch. She hunted axis deer and blackbuck. Ty and his oldest daughter Kaili run the hunts and do the guiding. They were simply great and kept us occupied the whole day from hunting in the mornings and then checking snare traps and touring the ranch until the evening hunt. We really felt that we had made some close friends. We are hoping to do a spring Oryx hunt there next spring and attending the big rattlesnake round up they have in April.

The Axis deer are great eating, Black bucks not so much. I did cook the rattler on the grill yesterday along with some baby back ribs for the family Easter BBQ and I must say it was pretty darn good, there was none left. Too bad they are protected here in Utah.[][]

Ty will show you a good hunt, he has stands set up specifically for archers. I didn't hunt this year it was the wife's hunt. I'm hoping to make a hunt for Oryx next spring.

I'm finally wanting to do some big game hunting here in Idaho. So I just seen this post. It would be awesome to hunt with Ty. I loved him at BYU.
